Microorganisms are allowed to proliferate in the sewage to break it down. This complex microbial action not only reduces harmful pathogens but also significantly lowers the biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) of the water, a key step in the sewage water treatment process. By doing so, it creates a healthier and less polluting effluent in the STP plant.

  • Disinfection Process: Following secondary treatment, the water undergoes the vital disinfection process within the STP plant. This step involves the use of advanced disinfection techniques to eliminate any remaining microorganisms, ensuring that the treated water is free from harmful bacteria and pathogens. The final water is treated with sodium hypochlorite to remove any harmful microorganisms, making the water safe for release into the environment or water bodies.
